Process
How we work together
Here, step by step, is what happens from the moment you send the form until your tattoo has fully healed.
Request an appointment →Request and review
- When you send the form, I read your story, images and notes carefully. The review takes a few days, a week at most.
- For ideas that fit my artistic view, my manager or I get back to you through the channel you gave in the form.
- I may not be able to say yes to every request, but I read each one.
Sessions and price
- I work in sessions. A session usually lasts 6–8 working hours, with a break every few hours as needed.
- The total price depends on the number of sessions, and the number of sessions on the detail of the design and the area of the body.
- Before I start the design, I give you a range: the least and the most sessions it may take.
- For multi-session work we usually tattoo three days and rest one; we plan the calendar together, depending on the scope and availability.
- Each session is paid in cash on the day of that session.
Deposit and booking
- Your appointment and the design work are secured with a deposit of 20% of the total price. The deposit is deducted from the total.
- Once the appointment is confirmed, the deposit is non-refundable.
- If you need to move your appointment, let me know at least one week before; later changes may lose the deposit and need a new one.
- If I have to move it, your deposit is kept and we find a new date that suits us both.
- Guest spot appointments work the same way.
Design
- I start the design once your date is set.
- From what we talked about and photos of the area, I build the overall design directly on that part of your body.
- I send you the overall design about a week before your appointment; this can vary with the detail of the design and the season.
- There is no limit on revisions: we keep working on it and developing it until we are both 100% happy.
Before your session
“A strong tattoo lives on a strong body.”
- Once your appointment is confirmed, moisturise the area almost every day until the session, with a cream that suits your skin.
- Drink plenty of water and eat well, so your skin is both hydrated and rested.
- Keep the area out of the sun and free of sunburn in the week before.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before and get a good night’s sleep.
- Before the session, carefully clean the area of hair and dirt without irritating the skin.
- If you take regular medication (especially blood thinners), have a skin condition or an allergy, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, tell me beforehand.
- I only tattoo people who are 18 or older.
Session day
- Start the day with a good breakfast, and keep eating and drinking water during the session.
- Wear comfortable clothes in soft tones; avoid very colourful ones.
- For an arm, bring a tank top; for a leg, bring shorts.
- Bring a tablet, a book or anything else to pass the time.
- You can bring one companion.
Aftercare and healing
When the tattoo is finished, we go through the aftercare routine together. In short:
The first 3–4 days
- The most important time: the tattoo is still an open wound and the skin needs 3–4 days to rebuild itself. These steps apply for 3–4 days after every session.
- Every morning when you wake up and every night before bed, wash the tattoo with antibacterial soap and drinking water. Make sure your hands are clean and the soap is fully lathered.
- Rinse with drinking water and pat dry with a clean tissue (do not rub).
- Apply a very small amount of the recommended cream so it forms a thin, clear, shiny layer: morning, midday and night.
- Check the tattoo during the day: if it is still moist, no cream is needed; if it feels dry, apply some.
- Do not cover the tattoo; it needs air to heal well.
The following weeks
- Keep up the routine. By day 15 the tattoo has settled and starts to become one with the skin; you can care for it less often.
- After about a month, healing care gives way to skin care: look after the area regularly with a moisturiser that suits your skin.
- Use sunscreen whenever you will be in strong sun.
- Keep drinking water and eating well while it heals.
While it heals, avoid
- Picking or scratching the scabs; light itching and flaking are normal.
- Pools, the sea, saunas and hammams for the first 2–3 weeks.
- Direct sun, tight clothes rubbing the tattoo, heavy exercise and heavy sweating in the first weeks.
Write to me
- If redness, swelling, warmth, discharge or fever does not ease within a few days, or gets worse, write to me and see a doctor.
Follow-up and touch-ups
- My tattoos rarely need a touch-up, but I like to follow the whole process, so I will ask you to share photos of your tattoo at a few points while it heals.
- If a touch-up is needed once it has healed, the first one within 6 months is free.
Frequently asked questions
How do I book an appointment?
Fill in the booking form on the site. I review requests within a few days, a week at most; for ideas that fit my artistic view, my manager or I get back to you.
How is the price set?
I work in sessions; the total depends on the number of sessions, which depends on the detail of the design and the area. Before designing I give a range of the least and most sessions. Each session is paid in cash on the day.
How much is the deposit and is it refundable?
The deposit is 20% of the total and is deducted from it. Once the appointment is confirmed it is non-refundable.
Can I move my appointment?
Yes, with at least one week’s notice. Later changes may lose the deposit and need a new one. If I move it, your deposit is kept.
When do I see the design, and how many revisions do I get?
I send the overall design about a week before the appointment. There is no limit on revisions; we work on it until we are both 100% happy.
How long is a session?
Usually 6–8 working hours, with breaks every few hours. For multi-session work we usually tattoo three days and rest one.
How do I care for the tattoo?
For the first 3–4 days, wash it morning and night with antibacterial soap and drinking water, pat it dry and apply a thin layer of cream three times a day; keep it uncovered. Care eases by day 15, and after about a month it becomes regular skin care with sun protection.
Are touch-ups free?
If one is needed after healing, the first touch-up within 6 months is free.
When you are ready, tell me your story.
